Baby Proofing Tips & Tricks

Wondering how to keep your child safe even when you're not around? Here are some quick tips and tricks to babyproof your entire house without a fuss.

You won't know how unsafe your home is until you have a little one who starts to move around without giving a care about the world! All of a sudden everything needs to be secured, removed or kept out of reach. Something as tiny as a safety pin to something as huge as furniture set everything could be harmful in ways unthinkable. Even if it's not possible to save them from every injury, you can effortlessly avoid some serious ones. You don't want your baby to hurt even in the tiniest of ways possible, do you? After all, every baby is precious in their own way and don't deserve to start their new journey with tears & bruises. So, get up, follow our perfectly drafted plan and make your entire house safe for your little one to move around. Let the baby proofing begin!

Babyproof your bathroom with your presence. One of the most dangerous fears of a parent would be WATER. There's always an immense amount of risk when it comes to a baby dealing with bathtubs and toilets. Honestly, it takes a very little amount of water for your little one to drown. They might be leaning in the bathtub or the toilet-pot to get out a toy and could just fall in so never leave a child unattended in the bathroom. You can also have anti-slip mats so that they don't slip when playing around. BUT no matter how many safety provisions you take nothing less than 100% of supervision is advised or else it's always a safer idea to keep all your bathrooms locked. We're sure you don't want to risk it even for a minute.

The next step is to secure your furniture to the wall. This recently developed technology is truly a blessing in disguise. Fasten all your furniture to the wall as much as possible. Don't leave anything freestanding, children tend to climb, push or pull objects that are around them. You don't want your baby to be trapped between the furniture so make sure to secure every tiny thing possible. You can anchor it with straps or can simply use a wall bracket.

Wrap up the corners, and wrap them well.Head bumps on corners are a serious threat to your baby's safety. Make sure to cover all edges and corners with something soft or puffy to avoid the sharp points. This one is non-negotiable as these sharp corners result in maximum baby injuries.

Doors are now your biggest concern, don’t ignore them during the baby-proofing process. You never know when your little one would've already mastered the art of slamming the doors! To protect those little hands from getting smashed get stoppers fixed on the doors. You can also order for some easy to fit door-bumpers. Get small moveable safety gates. You can use these to stop your baby from entering the kitchen, the living room or any place that could be dangerous for them to be around.  Lock everything with safety latches. We mean everything! Everything that is low in height and is easily accessible for the kid must be locked with safety latches. Especially the kitchen drawers and bathroom cupboards. You can simply use the plastic tie-up locks.

Don't forget to keep all things glass far-far out of their reach. By glasses, we just don't mean bottles and drinking glasses but any and every glassware that could fall and break into pieces like photo frames, showpieces, handy mirrors, etc. To avoid the risk of cuts, make sure to place it in inaccessible places. Additionally, babies are unaware of what to eat and what not and can put in their mouth every small thing that comes in their hands. For instance, coins, small pebbles on a table, exposed batteries. Make it a point to keep nothing freestanding or in the open.

Now that you're read of all the tips, we hope they will help you sail smoothly through your babyproofing journey. But most important of it all is to be ALERT. Pay full attention to your baby at all times, don't wait for them to start crying at top of their voice to grab your attention.  Maintain a healthy, safe and hygienic environment for them. After all, they deserve every bit of the love, care, and effort that you're putting in. You know your adorable little one is totally worth it. So, go get started and make it the safest place for them to be mischievous, to roam and to dance around!
