Even though complications are rare, it's always good to know what signs you must watch out for. Certain symptoms should be reported to your doctor immediately, no matter what stage of pregnancy you’re in. Here are some alarming signs to watch out for!

Persistent abdominal pain:

Discomfort associated with round ligament pain, for example, can be normal, but abdominal pain accompanied by fever, chills, or bleeding indicates that there's something wrong. In this case, it’s best to contact your healthcare provider.

Feeling your baby move less:

Babies start to move early in pregnancy. Most women start to feel the movements at about 20 weeks that is halfway through the pregnancy. Every baby has an individual pattern of movement. Try to notice the pattern in your child’s movement and be aware of the frequency. Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions for keeping track of your baby’s movements, and if you notice any changes, do reach out to your gynaecologist.

You and the baby may not be getting enough nutrients. Your body’s chemicals may get off balance. Morning sickness usually reduces after the first 3 months of pregnancy.
