Tips to help you ace your pregnancy like a pro!
Pregnancy is that time of your life when you need all the trusted tips to stay afloat! These tips are all you need to sail through this time.
Pregnancy is a time when a woman is at her most vulnerable phase and extra care and attention needs to be given to her overall health and well-being. Our fast-paced, modern lifestyle leaves a lot to be desired in terms of physical and mental fitness. Fortunately, on the flip side, we now more than ever have all the access to information and services to make pregnancy a simpler, healthier and safer time. We have collated some of our most reliable tips to help you through this incredible journey.
It's absolutely natural to have a dozen of questions doing somersaults in your mind (in no specific order) like:
- How much weight should you gain? Should you eat for two?
- What about basic things that make your day like skincare Is there any caution to be exercised with that?
- You are going to get bigger! How will you cope up with your body changing so drastically so soon?
- How to announce the pregnancy?
- What about a baby shower? How will you handle planning one with your belly growing by the hour?
- Can you pamper yourself the usual way when things get too much to handle? Or is there something you should avoid
TAKE A DEEP BREATH. DON’T LET OVERTHINKING GET THE BETTER OF YOU. YOU’VE GOT THIS (with a little help from your experienced mom tribe at MKB).
EXERCISE TIPS DURING PREGNANCY
Most exercises are safe to perform during pregnancy, as long as you exercise with caution and do not overdo it. The safest and most productive activities are swimming, brisk walking, indoor stationary cycling, step or elliptical machines, and low-impact aerobics (under the supervision of a certified aerobics instructor).
FOOD TIPS DURING PREGNANCY
Your body needs more protein and calcium to meet the growing needs of the baby. Foods such as legumes, sweet potatoes, salmon, eggs, broccoli, dark leafy greens, lean meat, and fish liver oil are particularly helpful during this time.
MENTAL WELL BEING DURING PREGNANCY
Hormones and general stress can wreak extra havoc on your mental health during pregnancy. While this is unavoidable, there are quite a few things you can do to manage the stress and emotional rollercoaster. Start with setting the right expectations – be realistic about what you can do and cannot. Rest when you need to. Listen to your body. Eat regularly, choose wholesome foods. Spend time with people who make you feel at ease.
WHEN TO SEE A DOCTOR?
Call your doctor if you have:
- Blood or fluid coming from your vagina.
- Sudden or extreme swelling of your face or fingers.
- Headaches that are severe or won’t go away.
- Nausea and vomiting that won’t go away.
- Dizziness.
- Dim or blurry vision.
- Severe pain or cramps in your lower abdomen.
- Chills or fever.
- A change in your baby’s movements.
- Less urine or burning when you urinate.
- An illness or infection.
- Any other symptoms that bother you.
At the end of the day, what matters is that you make the most of your pregnancy, put your health and well-being first because if you’re healthy, the baby will be healthy. We hope this journey is magical for you!
